Learn everything you need to know about becoming a teacher in the Centennial State. It’s why we’re here.
At TEACH Colorado, we envision a world where all kids have access to great educators.
Why? Because teachers matter. In fact, teacher quality is the #1 in-school factor that affects student learning—and qualified teachers make a lifelong impact.
And Colorado needs more educators. According to the 2024–2025 Educator Shortage Survey, state schools need over 7,700 teachers, especially in rural areas and shortage area subjects.
What does it mean for you? It means you can make a big impact as an educator in Colorado.
Our mission is to end the statewide teacher shortage and help talented people from all backgrounds enter the profession.
We're here to find and support the next generation of teachers and ensure our nation’s students have the teachers they deserve.
TEACH Colorado launched in 2019, as part of a partnership between the Colorado Department of Education, Colorado Department of Higher Education, Colorado Education Initiative, Public Education and Business Coalition and TEACH.org. TEACH Colorado is made possible thanks to our generous philanthropic funders. We’re proud to be leading the way to find the next generation of great Colorado teachers.
When TEACH.org began in 2015, we had clear goals: Reduce the national teacher shortage, elevate the image of the teaching profession and support anyone interested in becoming a teacher. TEACH has since grown into one of the nation’s largest and most effective teacher recruitment organizations.
Teaching is a fulfilling, creative and powerful profession. But how do you know if it’s right for you? And how do you get started in the profession?
TEACH Colorado is here to make it easy to explore teaching and take steps to become a teacher.
We support future teachers from all backgrounds, from high school students to college grads, career changers, and school staff members. No matter where you’re starting, we’ll help you learn about the career—and find a path that fits your life.
