Naropa University, Undergraduate Teacher Licensure Program

Unlike many other Teacher Licensure Programs, upon completion of this course of study, students will satisfy both the Teacher Licensure credentialing requirements and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Endorsement. This endorsement increases both the marketability of graduates and their capacity to teach in our diverse society.

San Luis Valley Alternative Licensure Program, Licensure-only Program

During the fall semester, program participants spend time with the online coursework they decide is the best to help them grow within their area of content. This coursework also includes lessons in English language acquisition and integrating reading and math through various content areas. Spring semester future teachers work on behavior strategies, collaboration, and universal design. Students also continue studying strategies for English language acquisition.

Colorado Mesa University, Undergraduate Teacher Licensure Program

The Center for Teacher Education offers a liberal arts, elementary education degree using a cohort model. A four semester sequence of classes is designed to be delivered to students in their home location in Colorado. Students are typically placed within our 14-county western slope community of school districts.

Colorado Mesa University, Master of Arts in Education - Exceptional Learner/Special Education

This 24-month program starts any semester (Summer, Fall, or Spring).  Students spend the summer in hybrid online and face-to-face courses. Students spend fall and spring semesters with their cohort gaining field experience in regional schools. During this period, students continue to engage in coursework and seminars both online and face-to-face. This process results in licensure and a graduate teaching certificate but students may choose to pursue additional graduate courses to fully complete their Master of Arts in Education.

University of Northern Colorado, Undergraduate Teacher Licensure Program

Undergraduate teacher candidates will receive early, frequent, and focused field experiences that gradually allow them to develop their skills as a new teacher. Candidates will benefit from at least 1,000 hours of clinical field experiences. At the Center for Urban Education in Denver candidates receive about 3,000 hours of field experience. All field experiences allow teacher candidates to engage in small group and whole classroom instruction.
