I have wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember. I love to learn and enjoy sharing my passion with others, especially those that might find it more challenging. Teaching students with significant emotional issues has taught me more than I've taught others! I strive to find ways to help my students connect and to determine the most effective way for them to learn. Thinking outside the box and then seeing that light bulb go off in their eyes is such a reward to me.

Why I Teach
I had never heard of Facility Schools until my first job interview after graduation, over thirty years ago. I was intrigued with this population of students and the alternative school setting. Working in a facility school gives you the opportunity to hone both your skills in all academic areas as well as your own interpersonal skills. Class sizes are smaller, you get to know the students better, and you are encouraged to tap into your creativity to keep these students engaged and making academic progress.
