TEACH Colorado Scholarship FAQs

TEACH Colorado scholarships are awarded to future teachers like you! If you meet the overall eligibility criteria and any scholarship-specific criteria, you'll be entered into a drawing.

Simply:

1) Sign up for a free TEACH Colorado account.

2) Apply to a partner educator preparation program.

Done that? You're eligible to apply! All eligible submissions will be entered into a random drawing.

You must be admitted to a partner teaching program and enroll to receive the scholarship funds.

TEACH awards multiple scholarships per year per partner region. We conduct drawings throughout the year.

Applying multiple times does not increase your chances of winning, and any duplicate entries for future deadlines will be considered ineligible. Please only submit one application.

Yes! You can apply for as many scholarships as you want. However, you will only be selected for one scholarship if you win.

You'll need to fill out a separate application form for each scholarship.

No.

The TEACH Grant Program is a federal program that provides grants of up to $4,000 a year to students who 1) are completing or plan to complete coursework needed to begin a career in teaching and who 2) teach in a high-need field in a low-income area.

Learn more about the TEACH Grant here.

T.E.A.C.H Early Childhood® Scholarship offers early childhood professionals a pathway to pursue higher education. Many of Colorado's early childhood education professionals, including directors, teachers, and family child care professionals, are eligible to apply for the scholarship.

Learn more about the T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® Scholarship here.

Only individuals pursuing initial teacher certification through a partner program are eligible. Current teachers looking to add credentials to their certificate or those pursuing administrator certification are not eligible.

Certain scholarships have additional eligibility requirements. Check the details for the specific scholarship you're interested in to find out what you'll need to qualify.

You should apply for a scholarship after you’ve…

2. Applied to a partner teaching program.

No. However, your teaching program may have its own GPA requirements for admission.

You should provide a document that includes proof of your application to one of our partner teaching programs. The document should be a copy of an official document or email from the institution, including the date received, and should be provided as a PDF, screenshot or image file.

To submit the application form, you’ll need to create a URL that links to the documents you wish to share. You can create a URL by uploading the documents to a cloud-sharing service like Google Drive, Dropbox, or Office 365.

The $1000 can be used toward tuition or other program-related expenses at a partner teaching program. The funds can be sent directly to the program, or they can be paid directly to you so they can be used for other teacher preparation expenses like books, laptops, transportation, etc.

If your name is chosen, you can expect to hear back from us 1-2 weeks after the scholarship deadline. Because we receive a large number of applications, we do not reach out to scholarship applicants that are deemed ineligible or whose names were not drawn.

If you’re selected, your scholarship funds will be awarded within 1-2 weeks after you’ve provided us with all of the required documentation, including proof you’ve enrolled in a teaching program and payment-related instructions. Payments can be issued directly to your program, or to you through PayPal.

All scholarships are non-renewable, one-time awards.
