Adams State University offers two online pathways for individuals seeking a teaching license in Colorado: the post-baccalaureate initial teacher license and the alternative licensure program. 

The post-baccalaureate program is designed for those with a bachelor's degree pursuing initial licensure in elementary or secondary education, combining coursework, supervised field experience and a semester of student teaching with flexible start dates. The alternative licensure program is intended for professionals already employed by a school district, offering licensure in elementary, secondary (English, mathematics, science, business and social studies) and K-12 education (music, visual arts, physical education and world languages). Both programs provide online coursework, structured support and advisement to help you achieve licensure and career advancement. About 48.5 percent of students follow an alternative path to teacher licensure, while 51.5 percent follow a traditional path.
