About
Northeastern Junior College was founded in 1941 in Sterling, Colorado. Northeastern is a residential Liberal Arts and Agriculture based college with extensive Career and Technical Education programs. Northeastern takes pride in offering a wide array of college services, including residence life and student housing options, athletics, and performing arts programming to create an immersive college experience. With practical hands-on instruction led mostly by full-time faculty who also serve as advisors to provide a caring and supportive learning environment. Northeastern offers classes at their main campus in Sterling, Colorado and an additional campus in Yuma, Colorado to service students in the five counties of Northeast Colorado. Northeastern has over 60 certificate and degree options for students to explore, as well as guaranteed transfer programs to all four-year public college institutions.

Northeastern ECE Educators Colorado Shines Scholarship
This ECE Scholarship is funded by the CO Dept. of Higher Education for students who have declared a certificate or degree path in Early Childhood Education. The goal of this scholarship is to help expand the ECE Educator workforce in Colorado and encourage retention of those educators through professional development. This scholarship is not based on students' financial need and may be used towards tuition, fees, books and supplies. Bilingual students will be prioritized for funding, but is not required. Eligible students will be required to register in the Colorado Shines Professional Development Information System (PDIS), and will need to provide their PDIS Login Username in the application.

Northeastern ECE Collaborative CU Denver Scholarship
This scholarship opportunity is provided through CU Denver for The partnership for Rural Educator Preparation program (T-PREP). This program creates a pathway for students to earn an Associates in Early Childhood Education from Northeastern, and then earn a Bachelor's degree through CU-Denver without leaving the northeastern community. This scholarship may be awarded to students taking ECE courses at NJC, even if they are not registered for the T-PREP program. Scholarships are available through the Fall 2023 term.

Rex and Doris Monahan Memorial T-PREP Scholarship
This scholarship will provide 100% tuition and book support, after all grants and scholarships are applied. Recipients may receive this scholarship for two years to graduation or for the duration of enrollment at NJC, whichever is less. Recipients of this scholarship must: be full-time students in good standing at Northeastern Junior College and be working toward an associate's and/or bachelor's degree in majors offered through the University of Colorado Denver T-PREP partnership with NJC.
The College Opportunity Fund (COF)
The College Opportunity Fund is a state stipend toward undergraduate degrees for Colorado residents attending Colorado public institutions. For the 2022-2023 school year, the Colorado Opportunity Fund stipend is $104 per credit hour. COF is not considered financial aid. Students eligible for in-state tuition can receive the stipend every term that they take eligible undergraduate courses, and have not met the 145 credit hour life time limit.
Colorado Merit Aid
The state of Colorado allocates funding for students who have achieved high academic success. Students must be enrolled in 6 or more credit hours and be a Colorado resident. Please check with the Financial Aid Office on current requirements.
Colorado Student Grant (CSG)
The Colorado Student Grant program is designed to assist needy students with educational expenses. Students must be residents of the State of Colorado and must demonstrate documented financial need. The maximum award for the 2022-2023 academic year is $3,500 to full-time students. Students must be making satisfactory academic progress. Funds are awarded to early applicants who meet the financial aid deadline of May 1st. All other applicants are awarded until the funding is exhausted.
Work Study, Working While Still Enrolled
Students who are enrolled in at least 6 credit hours are eligible for work study. The monetary amount offered is determined by your financial aid and various budget items.

In state tuition is $7,812 for a full-time, in-person student or $11,016 for a full-time, online student per year.
Out of state tuition is $7,812 for a full-time, in-person student or $12,036 for a full-time, online student per year.
