This is where I’m supposed to be. PEBC was a tremendous stepping stone. I needed them to be there. Their support hurtled me forward a little faster, and really helped me leap into teaching, a career I love.

Special Education Pathway

Transform your passion for helping others into a rewarding career as a Special Education teacher in Colorado. No teaching experience? No problem. This innovative two-year program is designed to support you every step of the way.

In the first year, you’ll work alongside a mentor in a general education classroom, gaining invaluable hands-on experience. By year two, you’ll transition into a Special Education classroom, where you'll be hired and salaried by a school district. This unique approach ensures you're fully prepared to make a difference from day one.

Upon completion, you'll earn your initial teaching license with two valuable endorsements, setting you apart in the job market. Plus, scholarships and stipends are available to help you along the way. You can also earn transferable master’s degree credits through PEBC’s partner universities, giving you even more opportunities to advance your career.

Already have an initial license? Apply now, and immediately earn your Special Education endorsement in one year while getting experience in a Special Education classroom. And the support doesn't end there. You'll have access to five years of professional development through PEBC, helping you grow and thrive as an educator.

Don't just teach—make an impact. Become one of Colorado’s most sought-after Special Education teachers.
