These programs are for full-time undergraduate students enrolled in Regis College at Regis' Northwest Denver campus. Students will experience the tradition of Jesuit education. Experiential learning, social justice focus and an integrated and full liberal arts core is at the center of learning to be a teacher in Regis' traditional undergraduate programs. During the first course and throughout the program, students experience the classroom with placements in local schools. All programs are inclusive by design and incorporate the requirements for a Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education endorsement, as well as coursework on Special Education.

The teacher education program in Regis College actively engages teacher candidates in collaborative, reflective, and challenging learning experiences that wholly develop their capabilities as committed, caring, and qualified educators. Education students are actively involved in urban and diverse field experiences beginning with their introductory education courses.

In addition to completing your B.A. and licensure in Elementary Education, you will also complete the required coursework for a TESOL Endorsement and the coursework for the Special Education: Generalist Endorsement. Your plan of study is fully integrated within the liberal arts and you will participate in the Jesuit educational experience, taking classes on the Lowell Campus, experiencing what teaching is in our diverse local schools, and working with your advisor to create a learning path that supports your goals.

If you choose not to major in Elementary Education, but would like to earn the required course credits to become a licensed Elementary teacher, you can choose another major and work with an advisor in the Undergraduate Education Programs Department to meet those requirements.
