About

Aims Community College is a fully accredited, public and local tax supported two-year college. Founded more than 50 years ago in Greeley, Aims has since established locations in Fort Lupton, Loveland and Windsor. The curriculum now includes 4,000 day, evening, weekend and online courses annually in more than 200 degree and certificate programs. Students can flexibly complete coursework part-time or full-time. Earning degrees and certificates entirely online is also an option.

Aims offers several programs for those considering starting–or building on–a rewarding career in education. Degrees and certificates are available for both elementary and early childhood education. The Aims2UNC initiative streamlines the path for students to transition directly to UNC to pursue a bachelor's degree after earning an associate degree from Aims.

If you’re excited by the idea of helping students gain new skills and abilities, consider starting a rewarding career in education. The Aims Elementary and Secondary Education Associate of Arts degree with designation is for students who will go on to pursue a bachelor’s degree. The 60 credits you earn at Aims will transfer to participating Colorado four-year colleges and universities where you’ll enter the bachelor’s program as a junior.

You can enjoy seamless transfer support for your elementary teaching degree by enrolling in the Aims2UNC transition program. Your Aims education associate degree credits transfer to the bachelor of arts in elementary education with a teaching emphasis at the University of Northern Colorado.

Grants, Stipends, Scholarships

Aims College Grant
This needs-based program assists students attending summer school with a documented EFC that is within 150% of Pell eligibility. Awards are made after Pell Grant eligibility is determined. Annual award amount is dependent upon available institutional funding. All awards are subject to the availability of institutional funding.

Aims Foundation Scholarships
Through the generous donations of many individuals and organizations, scholarship funds are available through the Aims Foundation to assist students while attending Aims. Only one application is required. The online application is available at www.aims.edu/student/finaid/scholarships/

The T.E.A.C.H Scholarship is available for Early Childhood professionals working in licensed settings and pursuing higher education. This scholarship covers up to 90% of tuition, along with a supplies allowance, paid study time, and bonus incentives for completing classes successfully.

The College Opportunity Fund (COF) is used by the state of Colorado to pay a portion of the total cost of undergraduate degrees for Colorado residents attending Colorado public institutions. For the 2022-2023 school year, the COF stipend is $104 per credit hour. COF is not considered financial aid. Students eligible for in-state tuition can receive the stipend every term that they take eligible undergraduate courses, and have not met the 145 credit hour lifetime limit.

Colorado Merit Aid
The state of Colorado allocates funding for students who have achieved high academic success. Students must be enrolled in 6 or more credit hours and be a Colorado resident. Please check with the Financial Aid Office on current requirements.

Colorado Student Grant (CSG)
The Colorado Student Grant program is designed to assist students with financial need with their educational expenses. You must be a resident of the State of Colorado and must demonstrate documented financial need. The maximum award for the 2022-2023 academic year is $3,500 for full-time students. You must be making satisfactory academic progress. Funds are awarded to early applicants who meet the financial aid deadline of May 1st. All other applicants are awarded until the funding is exhausted.
 

Work Study, Working While Still Enrolled

Work study opportunities are offered to students on a first come, first serve basis and compensation is determined by financial aid funding. If students do not qualify for financial aid funding, work study is still available and compensation starts at $15.50 per hour.
