Program Info

As an art education student, you’ll choose a creative discipline in addition to your education courses to ensure that you’re well-versed as both a teacher and an artist. Students will choose an emphasis in fine arts, graphic design, animation, or illustration. Through RMCAD’s unique curriculum, you’ll develop your technical skills and personal vision, while learning classroom methodologies and teaching techniques.

Students in the Art Education program have a chance to get into the classroom before they begin student teaching through more than 600 field experience hours. RMCAD’s Art Education program is approved by the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) and the Colorado Commission on Higher Education (CCHE). Graduates are prepared to apply for a K-12 Colorado teaching license and enter the classroom as confident and creative leaders.
