The Hayden School District encompasses the western third of Routt County, covering approximately 687 square miles. The district serves approximately 415 students in PK-12. The district is currently building a new PK-12 school at the previous elementary location. The new school is slated to open for the 2020-2021 school year. The Babson-Carpenter Career and Educational Center is also an integral part of the school district. The district is currently on a four-day week with Fridays off. The school is the social hub and the center of activity in the Hayden community.
